Traveler Code of Conduct

Welcome to MeWannaGo! We're thrilled to have you join us on this journey of exploration, discovery, and shared experiences.
At MeWannaGo, we are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experiences for all participants on our trips. To ensure everyone’s comfort and satisfaction, we have established this Traveler Code of Conduct. By joining a MeWannaGo trip, you agree to abide by these guidelines.
1. Respect Others
-
Be Kind and Considerate: Treat all participants, hosts, guides, and locals with respect, kindness, and empathy.
-
Embrace Diversity: Celebrate differences in culture, background, and perspective. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
-
Honor Personal Boundaries: Do not engage in any behavior—verbal or physical—that another guest has expressed is unwelcome. This includes unwanted comments, touch, or invasive questions. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected.
2. Respect Fellow Travelers
-
Avoid Toxic Behavior: If you're feeling frustrated or dissatisfied during the trip, please speak privately with your host rather than voicing complaints to the group. Sharing negative opinions about the itinerary or the experience with others can affect group morale and create an uncomfortable atmosphere. We’re here to enjoy a shared journey—let’s all do our part to keep the energy positive and supportive.
-
No Pressure Zone: Do not pressure others to join activities or make them feel guilty for opting out. Everyone should feel free to enjoy the trip in their own way. This includes respecting personal downtime, social preferences, and comfort levels.
-
Let People Have Their Experience: Everyone is here to enjoy their journey. Repeatedly airing grievances or making others feel responsible for your dissatisfaction disrupts the group dynamic and is not acceptable.
3. Follow Trip Guidelines
-
Adhere to Itineraries: Respect the schedule, meeting times, and planned activities. Notify your host if delays or issues arise. Please note that itineraries may change due to the welfare of the group, weather, or other unforeseen conditions.
-
Follow Safety Protocols: Comply with safety instructions provided by hosts, guides, or local authorities.
-
Know What to Expect: Please take time before the trip to review the full itinerary so you’re aware of what is planned—and what is not. Most frustrations during a trip stem from misunderstandings that could be avoided with a little pre-trip reading. While we’re happy to consider adjustments or additions when possible, you're always welcome to sit out on any activity that doesn’t interest you, as long as it doesn’t impact the group’s logistics.
4. Maintain a Positive Attitude
-
Cooperate with the Group: Foster a collaborative environment by being flexible and patient.
-
Handle Challenges Gracefully: Approach unforeseen circumstances with a problem-solving mindset and avoid negativity.
5. Respect Local Cultures and Environments
-
Honor Local Customs: Research and respect local traditions, dress codes, and etiquette.
-
Be Eco-Conscious: Avoid littering, respect wildlife, and minimize your environmental impact.
6. Personal Responsibility
-
Stay Accountable: Take responsibility for your belongings, actions, and behavior.
-
Moderate Alcohol Consumption: Drink responsibly and avoid behavior that could jeopardize the group’s experience or safety.
7. Communication
-
Be Transparent: Share any concerns or feedback promptly with your host or trip leader.
-
Resolve Conflicts Constructively: Approach disagreements with an open mind and a commitment to resolution.
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the trip without a refund:
-
Aggressive, abusive, toxic, or violent behavior.
-
Behavior that creates conflict between guests and hosts.
-
Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
-
Illegal activities, including drug use.
-
Actions that endanger the safety or well-being of the group.
-
Persistent negativity or behavior that impacts others’ enjoyment of the trip.
-
Pressuring guests into participating in activities or violating their boundaries.
-
Publicly criticizing or complaining about the trip in a way that diminishes group morale or disrupts the shared experience.
-
Bringing unresolved personal issues or emotional baggage that negatively affects the group dynamic, including taking frustrations out on the host or fellow guests.
9. Enforcement of the Code
Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may be subject to:
-
A verbal or written warning from the host or trip leader.
-
Removal from group activities or accommodations.
-
Termination of participation in the trip without a refund.
-
Cancellation of any future trips you are signed up for or placed on the waitlist for, at the discretion of MeWannaGo.
10. Agreement
By participating in a MeWannaGo trip, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Traveler Code of Conduct. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in immediate dismissal from the trip with no refunds and affect your ability to join future trips.
Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for all. Let’s create unforgettable memories together!
