Your Role as a Trip Host

MeWannaGo Trip Host

What You'll Do

MeWannaGo Trip Hosts don't just host trips. You serve as the glue for the trip from beginning to end. From understanding and knowing the itinerary details, to facilitating chat groups related to your trip  - guests will rely on you to provide insights and help.​

At all times, Trip Hosts are required to support the MeWannaGo Trip Principles.

Pre-Trip Duties

Once your trip is announced in Social Media and in the MeWannaGo Facebook Group, there is a lot that happens before the trip actually happens!  Here are your responsibilities.

  • Engage with potential guests and confirmed guests on Social Media

  • Facilitate the trip group chat on WhatsApp

  • Respond to questions in chat group when possible

  • Host virtual meeting with all guests

  • Ensure all forms and requirements are completed by each guest

  • Support a culture of community

  • Become fully knowledgable about the trip itinerary

  • Answer any questions about the trip logistics and itinerary

  • Serve as the go-to person for anything related to the trip
  • Report any issues to Trip Lead
  • Handle all situations with a calm demeanor

During Trip Duties

  • Ensure check-in is smooth and all guests are accounted for

  • Manage welcome dinner starting with an ice breaker

  • Stay on top of attendance and guests

  • Exercise safety throughout the trip

  • Take (group) photos throughout the trip, including some with MeWanna Go Banner

  • Post on social media at least once every other day

  • Communicate with Trip Leader and Tour guides to ensure a seamless experience

  • Create a worry-free environment for guests

  • Be available via chat to answer any questions related to activities

  • Communicate plans and expectations for the next day to all guests every night

  • Coordinate with Tour Guides 

  • Ensure Tours are are on time 

  • Have a first aid kit with you on hand at all times. (provided by MeWannaGo)

  • Facilitate any available options and add-on activities for the trip

  • Report any issues to Trip Leader as they happen

  • Resolve any conflicts that may arise

Post Trip Duties

  • Provide final report on the trip

  • Provide all media to MeWannaGo (photos, videos)

  • Provide any feedback that might help with future trips and itineraries

  • Meet with Trip Lead for a trip debrief
